Unparalleled accuracy

DragonEye is the ideal tool for high resolution terrestrial surveys and corridor mapping applications. DragonEye accurately measures the z-elevation within the 2 cm range (rms) at 500 m flight altitude. The built-in digital camera provides accurate images that easily are converted into 3D orthophotos where each pixel represents a footprint of 10 by 10 cm.

True 3D scanning

The proprietary Palmer scanning method allows multiple scanning of points from different angles. The DragonEye minimizes any 'shadow-areas' in the data, areas that normally are unreachable. The Palmer method allows creation of a highly detailed topographic 3D images of the scanned area. For sample images, and an illustration of the Palmer principle, please check the gallery by clicking the image above.

Flexible and fast deployment

Weighing less than 25 kg, the micro sized DragonEye system is easy to deploy in most aircrafts whether in helicopters or fixed wing aircraft, and requires few or no modifications of the transporting vehicle.

Real-time feedback and quick post-processing

During the flight mission, the DragonEye system is operated via a laptop that is also used for mission planning. A secondary monitor guides the pilot during the survey. Signal-processing is done in real-time and data is stored on removable solid-state disks. Hence, when the mission is completed, by exchange drives and mission plan, the system is ready for the next mission.

Sample applications

Areas of use are construction sites, railways with catenaries, roads, power-distribution lines, oil- and gas pipelines, urban infrastructure and more. In combination with its intensity detection and areal photo capabilities, the DragonEye system open up for multiple new applications, such as environmental and vegetation classification.
